Tartan
Based on the Fraser tartan from 1842, and in honour of one of the distinguished graduates of the early Perth Grammar School – William Fraser Tolmie (1812 – 1886), surgeon, fur trader, scientist, politician and Hudson Bay Company Officer, this version celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Perth Grammar School on its current site. The school colours of black, gold and silver complement the red, blue and green bands, the house colours for Almond, Earn and Lomond respectively. All these historical and contemporary elements combine in this tartan to create an educational and achievement ‘clan identity’ for one of Perthshire’s oldest schools. Chosen by popular vote of pupils and parents.
