Land-based Pre-Apprenticeship Programme
Last year the Scottish Government endorsed the Land-based pre-apprenticeship, awarding monies to support growth and a wider roll out of the programme across Scotland. The funding awarded allows us to offer 28 places for Summer 2020 throughout our regional coverage which includes: Perthshire/Angus/Mearns/Aberdeenshire/Moray.
Key Facts - Land-based Pre-apprenticeship (6 months full-time work)
Applications are now open for our Summer Intake, 28 places available with candidates undertaking a 3 week practical induction at SRUC, Craibstone commencing mid-June 2020.
Employment placements then follow for a period of 26 weeks working full-time from mid-July - early January. £1500 training fund offered throughout the programme which includes certificated training tickets.
Rates of pay:
Scottish Agricultural Wages Board rates as of 1st April 2019 -31st March 2020 state a minimum standard rate of £5.30 per hour for up to 48 hrs per week. (Rates of pay may well increase as from 1st April 2020)
Overtime rates are 1.5 times standard pay rate, £7.95 per hour apply for more than 8hrs in one day or when they exceed 48 hrs in the week.
